PowerPoint does not currently have the capability that you are looking for
since a PDF file is not a presentation or outline format (File->Open) or a
graphics format (Insert ->Picture), or a multimedia format (Insert ->
Sounds and Movies)
If you (or anyone else reading this message) have some suggestions about
how PDF files should be handled by PowerPoint, don't forget to send your
feedback to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product

your case as clearly and completely as possible.

we are looking at supporting adding support for converting pdf to powerpoint in a version of our PDF Converter later this year
