When I convert a pdf document to word using a third party converter it
creates text boxes. How do I convert the text in the text box to regular
body text for ease in cutting and pasting using Word 2003?

You'd have to ask that question in a support group for that third party
software.

You answered your own question :) - Select & cut/copy the text in the box,
paste into the doc, then delete the box.

Thank you. However the problem is in Word. When I convert to Word Perfect
it also creates Text boxes however I can convert the text box to text using
Word Perfect.

I still think you'd do better asking questions of the support team for that
product. Just because one program does something one way, doesn't mean they
all will.

If you have Word Perfect available use that then save the document in Word
format.
You can convert the text boxes to frames in Word then remove the frames, but
the resulting document will be a dog's breakfast.
If the software will produce WP and Word formats, it will almost certainly
produce plain text. Use that and reformat the document.
Note that OCR software is always going to produce a mess. Even the best
(Finereader) will struggle with some documents. PDf is not intended to be
converted easily. That's the whole point of it!
