Converting quicktime to something for movie maker

Hi Guys,

How can I convirt quicktime files into something that will import to movie
maker without buying software?
Everything I have is quicktime for some reason and it does my head in.

with Apple QuickTime .mov files.

The full retail version of Apple
QuickTime Pro can convert the files
to a compatible format.
