Protected .WMA to .MP3 ?

I know it must have been asked before, and i searched the net last night,
all info says it cannot be done. I don't know if they were older web pages,
or if that's still the current information now. I'm not sure of the legal
stance on this, i guess the protection is there for a reason. I'm just new
to all this.

Cheers

I don't know how the copy pretection works, but, you could
play the .WMA file and record with Wave Reopair "stereo mix"
option instead of 'line in'. another technique would be to
use (classic) Winamp (2.9x) grab a WMA input plugin and a
..MP3 Output plugin.
