converting project files to movie format

I have spent weeks on our wedding video which plays wonderfully from the project files in preview mode, but crashes or hangs when I try to make a movie file.

Sometimes i get the error that some of the files have been relocated or there is not enough disk space

Other times on a large format movie the counter will continue to add seconds to the time remaining for over 12 hours with no progress

Or on a small email format it will get to about 50% then Movie Maker 2 will crash and send an error report some where

My video has mainly hi res jpg stills (approx 3Mb each) some DV video, 4 music mp3s and runs for about 13 minutes (perhaps unlucky

I am running the latest XP service pack
PIV 2.8 with 500M Ram and two 120G drives, plenty of free space both drives not half full
I have not relocated any of the source images or video or sound
It used to work when the project was about 7 minutes long

Can you help me make my wedding video???

OK I checked out the PapaJohn web site and saw that I seem to have a bit of a common problem. I hope release MM3 may help soon. I am going to attempt to slit it all into two files. I am also wondering if I need to go through all my jpg's and down size them to 1024 x 768

I wouldn't resize the images... MM2 uses an 800x600 size copy of the high
rez pictures.... my testing shows that there's minimal effect on memory
needs when using 800x600 versus 4000x3000 pixel pictures as source files.

Hello there,

You seem to be using MP3 audio files. Movie Maker does not work at all well
with these. Perhaps if you convert them to WAV your problems will go away.

If you are running out of system resources then downgrading some of your
files might help. 3MB is not large for a still image. I scan mine in at
2,700 dpi and after cropping often have files up to 11MB
