I received a powerpoint presentation from a friend. I have
PP2000, but the slide show won't load. I suspect my friend
has a newer version of PP. Is there a way I can convert it
to use on my system. It is a huge presentation, and it
isn't real easy for he and I to get together.

If it won't open it isn't because a conversion must be done. PowerPoint 97,
2000, 2002 and 2003 all use the same format. However, there is a
possibillity that your friend is using PowerPoint 2002 or 2003 and set a
password. If that's the case, PowerPoint 2000 doesn't recognize the
password function and will just say that it can't open the file.

The place to start is to ask your friend if he assigned a password.

Ask your friend if he password protected his presentation. Protected
presentations will not open in earlier versions of PowerPoint
