Yes, you can use programs such as Camtasia to do a screen capture and convert
your presention into video format, then make use of a dvd authoring tool to
burn it onto a dvd. The first link is what you are looking for
(http://pptfaq.com/FAQ00156.htm).

Burn PowerPoint to DVD,
Seem there are so many suggestions when you search through the
website. But, if you use this, this process can be a Piece of cake.
Acoolsoft PPT2DVD is a professional PowerPoint to DVD conversion tool
which helps you easily burn PowerPoint to DVD, or converts them to
MPEG Video. With 3-Click simplicity, you can burn your PowerPoint
presentations on DVD with transitions, animations, sound and movies
retained. You can even create flexible DVD Menus for your PowerPoint
presentations to play on TV with a DVD remote control.
Besides, you can make your DVD menu, so you can control the Playing
after converting.

You can learn more about it before you have a try:

This program is cheaper compare to other software with excellent
quality!
I believe you will make more slide shows and presentations in future,
and you must want to share with others with DVD player, so I strongly
advice you to choose such a good software so you can take it as a part
of your PC. Whenever you can to play Power Point on TV , or send DVDs
to others , just run it , it will work well ~ But don't haste to buy
it , have a free trial to see if it really works well on your computer
through the free trial has watermark on output, it's better then
purchase a product that doesn't fit for you !

Yeh, lots of way to do this. But I recommend you to convert your PowerPoint
presentation to Flash.

Why Flash? Flash player is widely installed in most computers and it's easy
to be sent online. Have a free trial at
http://www.sameshow.com/download/ppt2flash-download.html. I think it's the
best solution for you. But if you need DVD format, maybe some tools like
PPT2DVD is okay.
