Is it possible to convert a automated Powerpoint 2003 presentation so that it
can be played by a DVD player with a television?

You can not burn ppt to DVD directly.
u should use some third party tools.

How to do it----
Tools:
1. PPT2DVD free trial from http://www.ppt-to-dvd.com/download.php?sid=4
2. a dvd burner

Steps:
1. install PPT2DVD on your computer
2. launch PPT2DVD
3. import your PowerPoint presentation in PPT2DVD
4. select the needed configurations for your presentation

NOTE: pay attention to these features because they affect the final playing
results:
---norm: NTSC PAL
---video aspect: 1:1 4:3 16:9
5. convert your presentation to a video file
6. burn the converted presentation file to a dvd with a dvd burner.

Some important things, make sure the dvd and the dvd player are compatible.

About the animation and music
This program supports the conversion of most transitions, text animations,
graphics animations in PowerPoint Music can also be well preserved in sync
with the slides.
For better conversion results, it is recommended to add the music after
conversion with the" add background music " fearure in the program.

Note that ,if your PowerPoint file is too complex, pls choose 'Record volume'
in the advance setting, and do not make other noise sound when converting, for
it would record all your music and sounds playing.

Apart from Sameshow, who always try advertising in this group, there also is
Camtasia Studio, www.techsmith.com, which I would prefer.

But please be aware, that a TV monitor is much smaller than a PC screen, so
that the image quality, colors, etc. will not be as good as in the actual
presentation.

Best regards,
Ute

Dear: Simon
Thanks a lot to concern Sameshow and Camtasia.
I totally agree with you to use Camtasia studio to convert PowerPoint file
to video format.
And , do you know the difference between Camtasia studio and Wondershare
PPT2DVD?
I'd like to clarify the difference of the two tools.
1, Camtasia sutdio is a tool to convert PowerPoint to video , it's totally a
screen capture tool
2, Wondershare PPT2DVD is a tool to burn PowerPoint to DVD, it is not a
screen capture tool.

About the function:
1, A screen capture tool like Camtasia studio can't support the hyperlinks
in PowerPoint to DVD as chapters which can be controled by a DVD remote.
So , if you want to make a PowerPoint DVD to play it on TV with all
hyperlinks transithions Chapters and DVD menus. You should use Wondershare
PPT2DVD
And if you only want to convert powerpoint to video , Camtasia studio is a
good choice.

Thanks again.
We will be happy to receive feedback from you again.

Ummm... Beg to differ with you, but yes, I can use Camtasia to create a full
menu driven version of my PPT presentation for a DVD. No, it won't do the
burning - there you are correct. But it will do everything up to the point
of the burning. Did you try it before bashing their product?????

Dear Kathy:
We only talk about the difference between the products, not bashing any
product.
May I ask a question about the camtasia studio:
If I have a PowerPoint presentation with 30slides, how can I divided the
presentation to make each slide as a chapter?
Can I make a menu page with all the 30 chapters hyperlinks in it.
When burned to DVD, can I use a remote to control the playback no matter
which chapter I want to jump to?
Does camptasia support the hyperlinks in the PowerPoint presentation?
I am sure Wondershare PPT2DVD can support heperlinks.
I had tried Camtasia studio, it is a screen capture tool, don't you agree it?

Camtasia Studio is much more than a screen recording program. It can be used
to make recordings of the screen and of your PowerPoint presentations, yes,
but it also allows you to much much more. It is fairly easy to tell Camtasia
where you want the markers and chapters for your DVDs, as well as to set up
how the interactions work.

I recommend you check out TechSmith's site for information on what can be
done with Camtasia Studio.
