Converting picture files

My operating system is Microsoft XP. I received a
picture file with the suffix .wps (Microsoft Works) and I
can't open it. Is there any way to convert the file and
view these pictures?

That is a Works Word Processing file and you would need the sender to
convert to RTF Rich Text Format.
