I need to convert all my files, (address book, saved
messages, calendar etc.) from a computer running XP to a
syster running 2000 Professional.

If you are using Microsoft Outlook, you just need to copy over your *.pst
file(s). From there, you can import the items into your new system or open
the *.pst file via File | Open | Personal Folders/Outlook Data file and then
drag/drop items between the old folder set and new one.

If you are using Outlook Express, you should ensure that Windows 2000 is
running IE6/6SP1 (which would be equal to Windows XP/Windows XP SP1
respectively). You will need to copy over your entire identity folder and
import your messages into Outlook Express.

For OE, you will also have to copy over your *.wab file so that you can
import it.

The real problem, as I now understand it, is that a hard
disk from a system running XP was put into a system
running 2000 (as a second hard drive) this "new" system
boots with win 2000. Is there any way to port the
information from Outlook/XP (Old drive) to Outlook 2000
(new drive) on the same system? "Not the way I would have
done it but its here now"

Assuming that they can read the drive in the new system, they can import
from the *.pst located on the secondary drive or still open the file via
File | Open | Personal Folders and move items from the old folder set to the
new manually.
