I just purchased an HP Pavilion, which has Office XP and
thus Outlook. On my current computer, purchased in 98, I
use Outlook Express. I have some messages saved in
folders that I would like to migrate to the new computer.
Does anyone have any recommendations on the best way to do
this? Thanks for your advice.

First copy the Outlook Express data to the new machine and import it
into OE there (if you need help with this, see
http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com). Once that's done, you can export from
OE to Outlook on the new machine.

An easy way to do this is install outlook on your 98 machine.
Export your outlook express messages and addresses to outlook. Use the
"export to a file" option from outlook to create a ".PST" file. Save
this file (floppy disk or CD-RW). Then import it to your outlook on
your HP machine.
