Converting MAX and TIF into JPEG, JPG and/or PDF

Martin

Hello,

I have a Brother MFC-6800 multifunction unit that came bundled with
Paperport that creates images in .MAX format. Without Paperport, the unit
scans documents into .TIF format.

I'd like to know if there is freeware that will convert .MAX and/or .TIF
images into JPEG, JPG and/or PDF format.

As always, this NG has been invaluable. Thank you!

Martin

| Irfanview will convert your TIF/TIFF files to JPG. Don't know about
| MAX, though. Never heard of that format.

irfanview won't sadly.. been there.

http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=max

suggests paperports viewer

This may/may not help
As a current PaperPort user, you probably know that, with previous releases
of the product, your scanned documents were saved in the proprietary MAX
file format. This worked well, but thousands of PaperPort users have been
asking for the ability to save documents in a format that could be more
easily shared with others who may not own a copy of PaperPort. Responding
to this request, PaperPort Deluxe 9 now treats PDF as a native file format.
All scanned documents can come into PaperPort as PDF (or MAX) without
having to convert them, and all of PaperPort's editing, annotating and
desktop operations work on PDF just like they do now for MAX files.

More of a FYI as it only views them.

Sorry I couldn't produce a solution for ya :-(

which just gave me an idea :)

Maybe the original poster can download cutepdf and from paperport, print the
file to cutepdf - just did it and it works a treat. :) then all's needed
is an ap to convert the pdf to a bmp or tif

This seems to work....
To convert PDF to bmp or TIF, use Paperless Printer to print the PDF
document, but select BMP or JPG as the output file, instead of the
default PDF. Once you have the BMP or PDF, use almost any imaging
program to convert to TIF (although why you would want to, I don't
know).
