Hi,

I'm reposting this question in a very different context.

Based on the advise I received here on this Newsgroup, I
was able to export the FileMakerPro records to a .DBF and
then into Access, but only two records out of 1800 were
exported.

When in FileMakerPro, and record opened on the screen, I
went to File, export, and then, I got a dialoge box with
two pane, a left pane contaning feilds and a right pane
where I had to move feild from left to righ, just like
Ws_FTP.

So, I'm now wondering of why only two records were
exported? where did I go wrong?

Any help and insight on how to do this properly is
greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Mike

There might be some grouping you set or some filter. I just exported a
couple of files with no problem just by selecting move all and export.

Hi,

By move all, Access couldn't open the file and the file
size was kind of strenge, 5 K, but when I moved selected
feilds, my file size became 132k and access opened it
with no problem, then based on the table, I used the Auto
form to generate a form for browsing the records and
there was only two.
Is there anything that I need to verify in File Maker
pro?, we only have one file in there with all the 1800
records.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thx,

Mike

Hi Mike

When exporting data from FilemakerPro, make sure you are sitting on the first
record. For some reason, FilemakerPro exports starting from the current
record.

I have done many conversions from FIleMakerPro to Access. So if you have any
problems, let me know.

Hey Maurice, you might be right, i was at the last two
records when I did the export and I got only the two
records exported. i'll give it a try on monday at the
office. oNe more question? how tables and forms are in
File Maker Pro? is it like access? can one see the list
of tables. forms, queries, etc. just like Access?

Regards,

Mike

Hi Mike

FilemakerPro is not like Access at all. You cannot see a list of the contained
tables, reports or forms.
