Converting from administrative to Application mode

I Have SBS 2000 server that I need to convert Terminal
Services "Administrative" mode to "Application" Mode. I
purchased the licenses but when I went to change the Mode
I get a Message window that basically says everything may
not work properly including the SBS 2000, sql,
exchange.... Is this a general disclaimer or should I be
worried??????

Running TS in Application mode on a SBS2000 server is *not*
recommended. Both for security as well as performance problems.
282009 - Running Terminal Services in Application Sharing Mode on
SBS 2000 or BOS 2000

And if you have plans to upgrade to SBS2003: it's not even
possible on SBS2003 anymore.

About the warning: every application that you want to make
available to multiple users in a TS session, must be installed
while the TS is in "install mode". That means that applications
like Internet Explorer, Office, etc, must be uninstalled, then you
install TS, then you reinstall these applications again in install
mode. This is needed to ensure that multiple users can have
individual program settings.
This is not necessary for applications that will not be used by
your users, only by the administrator. So if you have a backup
program or some other server maintenance program installed, you do
not have to re-install those programs when switching TS to
Application mode.

I don't know if SQL and Exchange are affected by the switch, but
you will most probably see performance issues, as well as security
issues.

Thanks for the response, Teminal services will be used for
only one application. The application stores data on the
server only. From your previous note that only programs
that are installed on the server that you wish terminal
clients use must be reinstalled.

Since there is only one paalication the clients will use:
My main concern is will my Exchange, SQL, ISA, Backup
services continue to run as services?

No guarantees, but they probably will continue to function.
I recommend a full backup including system state before you make
the switch.

You will have to re-install the application that the users are
going to run, though.
