I have a spreadsheet that was created in Windows 98 in Microsoft Word. I downloaded it onto a floppy disk and am trying to open it on my new computer that has Windows XP - Professional. It will open but is just garbage. Any help on how to convert this file? It's long and I sure don't want to have to re-type it.

To solve your problem, you'll need to install a version of Microsoft Office
on your new Windows XP computer!

Windows XP is an "operating system". Unless you specifically ordered, and paid for,
Microsoft Office, it is not installed on your new computer by the computer vendor.

Word does not do spreadsheets - it does tables. EXCEL does spreadsheets.

Open up your Spreadsheet in Office. choose the path....a:\ all files
and you should be able to read it fine.
