I can't get my video's containing film clips to save due to incompatibility,
they are a mixture of avi, xvid, divx, mpg. I tried the windows media
encoder which didn't work, it reported the files were corrupt (I don't know
what this means).

If I can convert my films to avi or wmv would they then work on the movie
maker or would they still be corrupt after conversion?

Maybe the files are actually corrupt...but I can tell
you from my experience that Xvid and DivX files
can be a real pain to work with.

Anyway...you may have better luck with the
following free converters:

SUPER © Simplified
Universal Player Encoder & Renderer
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/SUPER
(the mirror download site is faster)

Pazera Video Converters Suite 1.2
http://www.pazera-software.com/products/vcsuite/
(click the Blue download button not the Red one)

This is a collection of portable video converters...
you don't have to install them...just open them and
go to work.

FWIW...the name of the file you are downloading is:
"Pazera_Video_Converters_Suite.zip"
