Converting Bitmap to JPG or GIF?

Hi,

i know that there's no writing support for JPG and/or GIF in the CF.
But has anyone written some?

I like to store Bitmaps as JPG (so save memory)... or maybe GIF (but most
devices has more then 256 colors... so this may be a problem) ... PNG would
be OK too... anything that consumes less memory than a Bitmap

Take a look at this article:

It's using a open source port of jpeglib to Windows CE. You should be able
to P/Invoke into that.

You can P/Invoke the imgdecmp.dll library to load, and I believe convert,
formats. This DLL is standard on most devices as part of the OS image. If
you do a quick google search you will turn up many samples and downloads
using it.
