Converter PCM to WAV?

Hi,
Someone gave me a little 'present': two cd's, containing tracks from
Hot August Night of Neil Daimond. However, because he couldn't do
anything with these, he gave them to me. His thoughts were that I
should be able to solve the problem that he wasn't able to play these
cd's through his cd-set. When I took a closer look at this it appeared
that all those tracks were stored on the cd's in PCM-format. I spent
some time today to find a (freeware) converter from PCM to WAV, but
didn't find anything suitable. Does somebody know a (simple and)
freeware converter?

I don't know if this will work, but maybe dbPowerAmp? It seems to have
the ability to convert just about everything I ever needed it for.

Are they .pcm or .raw? Reason I ask is that there is this other app,
ra2wa15.zip, available here:

They are already wave. What someone has done (most likely) is to write
waves from their computer to a CD intending to make an audio disc but
instead they made a data disc. To use them, just copy to your computer and
then write them to new discs as "audio". You could also encode the copied
waves to MP3 for playing on your computer.

I downloaded dbPowerAmp and installed it. However, is doesn't support
PCM-files :-(

The file-extension says PCM. I don't know the difference between PCM
and RAW, but Ra2Wa also doesn't support PCM :-(

I hope you have some other ideas to solve this.....

That was exactly the first thing I tried, but Nero doesn't recognise
PCM. Or I did something wrong, while trying to write them as audio...
You could also encode the copied
waves to MP3 for playing on your computer.

Do you know any program that converts them to MP3 for instance?

I think I misunderstood...did you mean that the file *extension* was PCM?
If so, these are the only things I can find
pcm - Audio file, generic
pcm - Image Photoline
pcm - LaserJet Printer Cartridge Metric for printer driver
pcm - OKI MSM6376 Sythesizer Chip : Audio file
but most of those are not appropriate.

If the extension *is* .pcm and if the file size seems similar to wave files,
try copying to the hard drive with Explorer (forget Nero) and renaming them
to *.wav. Perhaps someone gave them an extension of pcm to distinguish them
for some unfathomable reason from raw wave files. The normal, garden
variety wave files are pcm wave files.
