I converted several powerpoint pages to HTML. In
PowerPoint I placed hyperlinks which will open certain
pages.

My problem is when I click on a hyperlink. The new page
opens in a separate IE window. Does anyone know how I can
what I can do in either PowerPoint or HTML so a hyperlink
does not open a new window, but instead opens in the same
window as the previous page.

Regards and thanks.

Hi Mike

I have win2kpro and in ppt2000 is created a slide with a
hyperlink then I saved my presentation as a 1.HTML. When I
open 1.html and click on hyperlink to opens the
presentation in the same window. If that is the procedure
that you did before, it could be software related (Win98
or OfficeXp).

Could this be an option in your Internet Explorer browser? What version of
IE do you have - if it's an option in a later version than my IE5, then it
would be worth upgrading!

[CRITICAL UPDATE - If you are using Office 2003, you should install this
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Mike,

This is a limitation in earlier versions of PowerPoint HTML that is
addressed in HTML output from PowerPoint 2003.
