Do you happen to mean...mswmm?

That's your project file and of no use
outside of Movie Maker. If you use
Movie Maker to save your file as a
..wmv or .avi video file you can share
it and or upload it....

(I suspect .wmv would be better for your
website because of the smaller file size)

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next / Next.
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as an .avi movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

Thank you! My Canon S3 camera saves in avi format. I like to use Quicktime
Pro 7.1 and the H.254 codec for compression BUT QT doesn't offer much in the
way of editing. What I need to do is save my edited movie(in WMM) as a
lossless avi, open it in QT and use the H.254 codec for a reasonable (web)
size and very good quality. Is there currently a better quality compression
codec (for average folks <g>) than H.254?

Sorry, I have no experience with QT Pro.

Is there a specific reason you prefer QT pro?
Is it for web uploads that will only take QT formats?
Personally I'm no fan of QT products, there is much
better, so much better products, but as this is
WindowsXP Movie maker, you maybe best trying
the following site and avail yourself of their forums
and tools:

No, no 'reason' for using QT Pro other than it just being the program that
was used in the tutorial for compressing video with (very good) results.
The codec of choice here was H.264 and mpeg4 format. So far I've found it
to do the best job for compression with the least amt of loss of quality.
Course this is just for a "doable" file size for uploading on the web. I'll
keep the originals as lossless avi. Does WMM use the H.264 codec and save
as mpeg4 and do you know of a better codec that compresses to the degree and
quality as the H.264 (that's free) :) When you say there are much better
products than QT, are you talking about the quality of the video or features
and functionality of the program? QT offers VERY little in editing tools
but I like the results.
Thanks

No sorry, can't help you.
QT and Mpeg4 are not in the realms of WMM.
Try mac/Apple/QT forums/newgroups

This is very helpful. I will be able to put my movie on my web. All I need
is a player to play the movie on my site. Thank you.
