How do you convert the songs when they are copyrighted
(off of Walmart.com)? If using MusicMatch, what version
would I need? I have 7.1, and .wma isn't a supported
format.

I just tried it, but it still won't convert licenced
files. How do I get around the licence's and the DRM
stuff?

You cannot convert protected files. You need to burn them to a disc, and then
rip them.

Try this:

(1)Use your recording software to record the protected
file.
(2)Then use the built-in Windows converter to convert the
recorded file to your desired compression ratio.

For example, play a protected CDA file with your Windows
Media player; simultaneously open your Creative
Soundblaster "Creative Recorder" [or your Creative Wave
Studio, or your Windows Sound Recorder if you have a
LONG "file" of silence of more than 4 minutes upon which
you can "record over".] and record your desired song.
After the song is recorded, then click your "Save As"
manager and select the compression format from the
compression dropdown box. In the case of converting to
something like mp3, select MPEG LAYER-3

.

Why not just go to a record store and steal all the CDs you want, then take
them home and rip them to the HD? That is EXACTLY what you are trying to
accomplish by "getting around' the licenses and DRM.
