I have copied tracks from my bought CDs to my PC hard drive using
Windows Media Player 9 in WMA format.
My hard drive music player (iRiver IHP) mow has the ability to sync
lyrics with MP3s not WMAs.
What app can I quickly convert all my WMAs to MP3s? Is there a better
way to copy from CDs to PC hard drive instead of WMP9?
thanks

Yes, there are dozens. I like Exact Audio Copy for that job.
You find it at: http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/
(Do not forget to get the newest lame.dll for encoding to MP3, there
should be a link on the EAC-homepage)

Uhhh...MP3? But you don't copy, you rip and encode.

As the man/woman said, CDex is nice...but the latest is 1.51, not 1.5.

Which because of a problematical dll file won't work on some Win98SE
systems. I have to use 1.5

Thanks Rod - I'd heard that simply using the cdrip.dll from 1.5 and
replacing the 1.51 version works too. Maybe it's the same version?

Not sure, probably is, it's dated 24-Sep-2003.

It's the same size and has the same internal version number (117), but
a binary compare shows quite a few differences between them. Anyone
know which is recommended?

Definitely use the 1.5 - I couldn't run CDex 1.51 with the 1.51 CDRip.dll, but it works fine
with the older dll file. Just download the zip file of the 1.5, extract it & move the dll into
the CDex directory.
