convert stereo wav to mono wav ?

Is there any freeware which will batch convert about 60 .WAVs to mono .WAVs
and retain the quality ?
CoolEdit pro does it, but the resultant files are noticably poorer quality.

Windows Sound Recorder. "Save as" lets you choose whatever quality you
want.

Sorry, you said batch. In that case, Winamp using the ACM Wave Writer
(which may be the standard disk writer mplug-in depending on Winamp version)
would work nicely. You set the outparameyers in "Configure".
