I have a video clip that has a .mov extension. PowerPoint does not support
this type of file. This video clip plays on Quicktime but does not play on
Window Media Player.

Is there a way to convert the video file so it can be inserted into the
PowerPoint slide?

Yes, QuickTime Pro will allow you to save the MOV as a different file type.
I'm pretty sure it does at least AVI -- probably MPEG, too.

Thanks for reply.
I understand that I will need QuickTime Pro, which must
be purchasd for $29.95. Before I purchase the QuickTime
Pro, please let me know that this is the most effective
way to convert my .mov files to be compatible with
Windows Media Payer and/or PowerPoint.

Last time the MVPs discussed this with the MS PPT product group (which
wasn't that long ago), the recommendation was to use QuickTime Pro. So I'd
say that is the most effective way to convert.

for the mov2avi you do not need quick time pro. you only need the normal
quicktime. when you install quicktime you have to put a check mark next to
authoring. if you get an error message about not having the proper codecs or
something along those lines you should probably download the nimo codec pack
or something like that. for more details on anything conversion related you
can check out http://www.videohelp.com/
