A2 0.04.00 B2 15,000

Hi Marco

Try entering in B2
=60/A2
but I get an answer of 1500 km/hr, not 15000 km/hr.

For me comma is full stop 15.000 number 3 decimal
0.04.00 h.mm.ss 15.000 number 3 decimal

Hi Marco

We are still different by a factor of 100.

I get 1500.000 km/hr or 1500 km/hr

If it took 1 minute to cover 1 Km, that would be 60 Km /hour
If it took .4 minutes, then that would be 50 *2.5 = 150 Km / hour
Therefore .04 minutes is equivalent to 1500 Km / hour which is the result
you get from =60/0.04

Excuse me but i don't undestand.
with a calculator 60/4 = 15 and i don't have problems, but in excell my time
is in h.mm.ss or m.ss 0.0 4.00 , 4.00
and if in ex B2 i have 60/A2 "60/0.04.00 " result 21600.000 not 15.000

and if my time is 0.04.36 ?

regards

OK, first of all sorry for misunderstanding, I thought the 0.4 was 0.4 km in
one minute, thus
the * 60, Roger makes another mistake, he thinks it is 0.4 minutes while I
assume you are using a regional setting that is using periods instead of :,
so to get it right, assume the time is in A21, to get 15 use

=60/(A2*1440)

AND format as either number or general, NOT time

Excel time is one day = 1 one hour = 1/24 one minute = 1/24/60 (1/1440)

Thanks Peo

You were quite right. The OP did show his value as 0.04.00 and, with him
expecting an answer of 15 kph, I should have been more observant.
Glad you were wide awake.
