convert from xp to 2000

HELP!!!

I have saved an excel spreadsheet at the firm I used to work at in XP but I
only have 2000 at home and I can't get the spreadsheet to open.

Is there any way or program or anything that will allow me to convert the
file backwards, ie from XP to 2000.

the file formats for XL02 and XL00 are identical. No conversion is
necessary (or possible).

What happens when you try to open the spreadsheet at home?

The little bar at the bottom gets to about 90% and then just freezes and
does nothing

I've tried leaving it for a few hours in the hope it'll open BUT nothing
happens and I have to use ctrl, alt & del to shut it down.

I could still open it up in office xp even if it didn't open on my home
computer - but i have lost my access to xp i'm stuck
