Is there any conversion needed for this ?

I use outlook express latest version for email & newsgroups
and was thinking of changing to the full Outlook
but would like some guidance / advice on how to proceed

thanks

I've never done it, but in Outlook 2003 I notice there is a command on
File Menu called Import and Export wizard which shows as one option
"Import from Outlook Express and Eudora Light and Pro". I'm going to
take a leap here and assume that this wizard will work to convert
Microsoft Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Export from OE to Outlook - it will create a PST file. You can also export
your address book to a personal address book (.pab) and then open that PAB
in Outlook and import it into the contacts folder.

Better is to use Export from within Outlook Express or you'll loose your
dates

In Outlook Express, click Export>Address Book and Export>Messages. Both of
these export to Outlook directly.

Export from OE to Outlook - it will create a PST file.

No, it won't. It will place the exported data in the current default
delivery location, either Exchange or an existing PST.

You may be right....I haven't done this in ages, but I thought it would
create a PST file if there isn't one already?

You can't run Outlook without a delivery location; either Exchange or a PST.
Exporting from Outlook Express will cause Outlook to accept the data and
place it in the default delivery location.
