Convert Embedded Word doc to Icon? DisplayType property is useless

I've not found anything out there on programmatically converting a Word
doc to show as an icon in a bound object frame. Word docs are dragged
from windows explorer over to the bound object frame in Access, where
the content view is shown. To convert to an icon manually is a multi-
step process. The field property DisplayType is set to icon but
nevertheless, icon is never shown unless it's manually converted. This
may be because drag and drop is not supported properly or
something...anyways, anyone know a way to get it to arrive as an icon or
to be converted to an icon view via code?

The only work-around I have found is to create a folder with shortcuts to
all the documents. You can drag and drop shortcuts into bound object frames
without them opening. In your underlying table, it will show as "Package"
rather than a MS Word doc.
Maybe some of the gurus here can give us a better solution....
