Convert .avi to .jpg

I accidentally took videos when I meant to take pictures. How do I extract a frame from an .avi file to make it a
photo, or how do I convert an .avi file to a .jpg file
I would like to do it using Adobe Photoshop or Windows XP or shareware - It's a one-time issue (I hope!)
 
Import it into MM2 and use the Take Picture icon under the monitor. It'll
make a JPG file from whatever frame you are on.... do it with the clip in
the collection rather than on the timeline, so it'll be higher quality.
