I have a column of dates, that excel isn't recognizing as dates, but
instead as text. When I double click in the cell and press enter,
excel converts to a date.

Is there a technique I can use to convert all of the cells in the
entire column to date format in one step.

Thanks for any suggestions. FYI, I am using excel 2003.

I may have found the answer.....Paste Special 0, then convert from the
resulting number back to a date format.

You can shorten that down by per-format the cell where you put zero in to
dates and paste special and select add, that way the date format will be
pasted as well
