Convert a column of data cells to a row?

There's gotta be an easier way than by manually copying or moving
individual cells.

Example: given a column of dates
1996
1997
1998
1999
2000
2001
2002
2003

Convert the entries to a row, i.e.,
1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003

If such a command exists, it doesn't seem to be readily "findable" in the
help facility.

Edit | Copy | Edit | Paste Special | Transpose

Please disregard - I just found the "Transpose" option of the copy
command.

Have you tried copying the data,
paste...special...transpose.
