convert ' 97 to '03 error

While converting a microsoft '97 pro database into
microsoft '03 pro i recieve the following message:
"current user account doesn't have permission to convert
or enable this device".
Who has an solution?

I believe you must be the owner to convert. I think you have to create a
new database and import each item into it so you become the owner, then you
can convert. It has been about two years since our last upgrade, but I
think that is what we had to do with a few of our databases created by
former employees.

I would agree. Actually the best approach (read least hassles) is to
unsecure in 97, convert it, and resecure in 2003.
