We have an extensive collection of 33 1/3 LP Albums. We
would like to burn them to CD,S. We have a new HP a330n
with approx 100 gig of unused hard drive. We have spare
audio input jacks and USB and Ethernet connections on our
HP. The Stereo output is hardwire. Neither HP or
Microsoft have a solution, anyone have any suggestions?

You'll need a pre-amp to boost the level from the turntable.
Here are step-by-step instructions.

Connect your turntable to your hifi.

Connect the line out of your hifi to the line in of your soundcard.

Activate 'line in' as the input choice (double click on the loudspeaker icon
in the systray > options > propoerties > recording > OK > select what you
need and then push the slider up to max. Leave open.

Get a wave editor (http://www.goldwave.com) or Audacity
(http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)

Record using the wave editor in to wave format. Edit the file(s) by chopping
off excessive silence at the beginning/end, filter our the turntable rumble,
normalise the sound.

Use your burning software to burn your CD's.

Re-post if you need any further info.

Cheers,
Jerry
