I upgraded a db from 97 to 2000. In 97 there is a series
of queries that create data for a table. In 2000 when I
run the same command I get an error "system out of
resources". I am having problems trouble shooting this
problem.

Why does it work in 97 and not 2000?

thanks in advance

Yes that is it... uncheck close Access open again and recheck... if that
doesn't work write back...

Hi Gina,

I unchecked and closed and rechecked and get the same
problem. Any other suggestions?

thx
Alex

Thanks again for you response. I had already done 1 & 3.
I am looking at item 2.

The process is a series of queries that make up the data
that is inserted into a table. The data represents
chemical constiuents based on sampling events for specific
monitoring wells at a designated landfill site.

I iniate the make table query listed below. The crosstab
queries when run individually do not work but the other
sequenced queries that make up the union query have no
problems.

here is the make table query:

SELECT SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.LOCID,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.LOGDATE,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.QueryGrouping,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.Calcium,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.Calcium AS CAQual,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.Iron,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.Iron AS FEQual,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.Magnesium,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.Magnesium AS MgQual,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.Manganese,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.Manganese AS MnQual,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.Potassium,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.Potassium AS KQual,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.Silicon,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.Silicon AS SiQual,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.Sodium,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.Sodium AS NaQual,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.[Bicarbonate Alkalinity
as CACO3], SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.[Bicarbonate
Alkalinity as CACO3] AS BicarbonateQual,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.[Carbonate Alkalinity as
CACO3], SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.[Carbonate
Alkalinity as CACO3] AS CarbonateQual,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.Chloride,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.Chloride AS ClQual,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.[Nitrogen, Nitrate (as
N)], SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.[Nitrogen, Nitrate
(as N)] AS NO3Qual,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.Sulfate,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.Sulfate AS SO4Qual INTO
tblSW_Indicator_Parameters_XTab
FROM SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab INNER JOIN
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2 ON
(SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.LOCID =
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.LOCID) AND
(SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.LOGDATE =
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.LOGDATE) AND
(SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.QueryGrouping =
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2.QueryGrouping)
ORDER BY SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.LOGDATE,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab.QueryGrouping;

SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab Query:

TRANSFORM Max(SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.CONCENTRATION)
AS [The Value]
SELECT SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.LOCID,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.LOGDATE,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.QueryGrouping
FROM SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union
GROUP BY SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.LOCID,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.LOGDATE,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.QueryGrouping
PIVOT SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.PARNAME;

SW_Indicator_Parameters_Crosstab2 Query:

TRANSFORM First(SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.Qualifier)
AS [The Value]
SELECT SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.LOCID,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.LOGDATE,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.QueryGrouping
FROM SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union
GROUP BY SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.LOCID,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.LOGDATE,
SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.QueryGrouping
PIVOT SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union.PARNAME;

SW_Indicator_Parameters_Union Query:

SELECT * FROM SW_Indicator_Parameters
UNION
SELECT * FROM SW_Indicator_Parameters2
UNION
SELECT * FROM SW_Indicator_Parameters3
UNION
SELECT * FROM SW_Indicator_Parameters4
UNION
SELECT * FROM SW_Indicator_Parameters6
UNION
SELECT * FROM SW_Indicator_Parameters7
UNION SELECT * FROM SW_Indicator_Parameters8;

SW_Indicator_Parameters thru SW_Indicator_Parameters8
Queries group the data.

There are times when I also get a query to complex error
message. If you need me to create a shell of the db to
see that actual queries let me know.

This is quite frustrating. I would of thought the Jet/DAO
upgrade from 97 to 2000 would work out smoothly.

thx for your help.

Alex
