Conversion from Works

I received an e-mail attachment which was created in Works. It says it is
a "Works spreadsheet or chart", but doesn't give me a clue about what
version of Works it was created in.

Is there any way to convert this document to a Word document (or otherwise
open it)? I tried opening it as just text and I got some text, but mostly
heiroglyphics.

Thanks in advance,

Perri

If you have the proper converters installed, you may be able to open it in
Excel. To be sure, ask in a Works or Excel newsgroup. Once it is in excel,
it could be copied to Word. Otherwise, ask your friend to see if it can be
saved in .rtf format.

Thank you kindly. I must not have the proper converters installed, because
I couldn't find a way to open it in Excel either. I'll go back and ask him
to save it as an .rtf.
