Controls absent in Access Runtime

I have Access Runtime installed on a Windows 2000 PC also running Office XP SBE. All controls on my forms, except buttons (i.e. combo boxes, etc), are absent (not just empty) unless already populated when I copy the application to the PC. If I populate each table with data, the controls show up

Am I missing an Add-In or something?

The detail section of a form will be completely empty when it has no
records to display and doesn't allow the insertion of new ones.

True, there are no records, but the AllowAdditions property of the form is set to true for all the affected forms

Is there another property that affects this?

Is the form's Data Entry property set to Yes or No?

Is the form's Recordsource query an updatable query?

How are you opening the form?

Assuming that you're running different copies of the database on each PC, my
guess is that this particular copy is corrupted. Try copying a database from
a PC that is working onto the one that isn't. Does that fix the problem?

1. DataEntry set to No.

2. RecordSource: SELECT Table_Name.* FROM Table_Name ORDER BY
TableName.First_Field_Name; (basically just a table ordered by one field)
3. Opening by Click event of button on another form: DoCmd.OpenForm "Form_Name"

This happens on ALL forms having bound controls unless there is already
data in the RecordSource. I cannot duplicate the problem on any other PC;
only on this one running Windows 2K & Office XP SBE. I have tried both
ART200 & ART2002, with the same results: other PC's open forms with controls
present; this PC opens forms but controls (except buttons, so it is probably
just bound conrols) are absent unless the RecordSource is already populated
with data.

I already tried burning a CD of the application and copying it to two different PC's (after the original failure previously described). It works fine on a Windows XP Home PC having MSWorks & Access RT 2002, but continues to fail in exactly the same manner on the PC with which I am having so much trouble (Windows 2000, Office XP Small Biz), whether I install ART 2000 or ART 2002

I ran through the Office updates on the troublesome PC, but to no avail - the problem persists. Am I missing an ocx file or something? Or is there an ART service pack or update I am missing that is irrelevant on the other PC's?

When you copied the other databases onto your PC, you did uncheck the "Read
Only" box in the file's properties, right? What happens if you copy your
database onto a PC that is not having this problem; does it work correctly
on that PC?

You can go to Microsoft Office Update site and try downloading updates to
ACCESS Jet to see if the "bad" PC may be behind the current patches.

Other than that, you may need to contact MS Tech Support for more hands-on
assistance with this problem.

I don't have other suggestions at this time. I've just not seen this
behavior before.

I copied the DB onto both PC's the same way - no "read only". In fact, if I populate the table first and copy it over, the fields appear just fine and can be updated just fine. The whole thing works find on at least two other PC's - one has Windows 98, Office 97 Standard, & ART 2000, the other has Windows XP Home, MSWorks with ART 2002. Only the PC with Office XP SBE & Win2K fails

I will check for updates specifically for Access. The downloads via the automated download tool ("search for updates I need...") did not do it

Thanks.
