control panel

I switched my control panel to the classic view and now I
can't change it back to the xp look. The normal link to
this is not there anymore. how can I change this?

If you don't see a panel on the left side with a link that says "Switch to
Category View," in Control Panel, go to Tools, select Folder Options, under
Tasks, select Show Common tasks in folders," click apply and ok. If it is
checked, uncheck it, click apply and ok, then re-check it and click apply
and ok. You should then see the above referenced link.

You have to turn on Common Tasks pane. Tools - Folder Options - Show Common Tasks In Folders
