I just upgraded to XP Home from 98SE. The Control Panel
icon on the start menu is barely visible, it appears as
though some of it is missing. Any ideas?

Well, thanks for the help; unfortunately it didn't work.
I know it's really not that big of a deal, it's just an
annoyance factor with me, especially after spending the
$$$ on the upgrade.

Hi Phil,

This has been noted before as a shell32.dll issue. In some cases this edit
and run command helps.

Repair the Icon View (Line 4)

Then, go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 /i shell32

If not, good luck and keep us posted! :o)

Click your start button to open the menu. Now right click
a blank spot and click properties\start menu tab\customize
button. Try changing to small icons or reducing the number
of programs displayed or go to the advanced tab and change
where the control panel is displayed to one of the other
two options. Try clicking your way around the
configurations available in here and see what happens.
keep smiling.
