Lastest upgrade to Excel 2000 it seems I have lost the
ability to assign cell links and input range to combobox
lists etc. Looking back at spreadsheets from earlier
versions when I right click on the function and go to
format control there are 5 tabs across top..last one being
control. On the 2000 v. of Excel there are only 4, with
the control tab removed! Using Help it suggests that any
assigning of control can be done in Visual Basic but I
don't know how to write code. It seems the simple means
to do so is no longer available or perhaps there is an add-
on that I need to activate?

I am having the same problem. If I copy a drop-down cell from a spreadsheet created pre-Excel 2000 into an Excel 2000 spreadsheet, the "CONTROL" tab is available on the drop-down in the new spreadsheet. A natively-created drop-down will not have the CONTROL tab

In the HELP dialog for FORMAT CONTROL, the "Change, move, or resize a button, checkbox, or other control" reply says: "To change the control properties, click the CONTROL tab...", so apparently this functionality is supposed to be available in Excel 2000. Does anyone know a way to turn that functionality on as a default

Thanks
