Control+End in Excel 97

Control+End should take me to the last cell of data in a
spreadsheet. I realize that it may take me to a column
where no data exists, but there is data in that row in a
prior column. Sometimes I take ownership of a
spreadsheet where this doesn't work. I will delete the
blank columns and blank rows, but it still will take me
to some ridiculouly faraway area. Currently, my
spreadsheet is A1:M780. Control+End is taking me to
BN4201. How can I get Control+End to take me to M780?
I've checked for macros, range names...I've cleaned all
borders and shading...I've deleted all columns and rows
outside my data area. This is driving me crazy!

Thank you!

Try this,

select everything beyond M780,
while selected do edit>delete twice,
first after you have selected the rows below and once after
you have selected the columns to the right.
Now save the wb, then close and restart excel (I believe
that is necessary with excel 97, for later versions you
should be ok after saving the wb..

It worked! Thank you so, so much!!!
