Hi!
I currently use Remote Desktop to control my workstation,
both from inside my LAN and from the outside when i'm out
travelling. This works perfect and i have yet to
experience any problems.
However, i've recently installed a new server, also
running XP Pro. This server is behind a router, as is the
workstation. When i just forward calls on port 3389 to the
workstation everything works fine, but i want to be able
to remote control the server also. How can i do this?
The way i figure, i have to change the port for Remote
Desktop on the server and then, in the router, forward
calls on that port to that computer. I've gone through all
settings i can find for Remote Desktop but cannot find a
way to change ports. Perhaps there is a way to do that in
the registry, but where?
If i manage to change the port, there is still the problem
with accessing that port via Remote Desktop. Can i specify
wich port i want Remote Desktop to use as in other
applications, ie. "192.168.0.1:****"?
Thanks in advance,
McB
