I have upgraded to Powerpoint 2003. I cannot enable .wav files to my presentations so that they play continuously (i.e., do not restart with each slide). Never had this problem with earlier versions of ppt. Any suggestions?

Hi Ralph,

You can follow these steps to enable a sound to be played continuously:

1. Insert sound (I inserted an Mp3) to firstr slide you want it to play on.
2. Right click on sound icon, click "Custom animation".
3. In the task pane, right click on the audio file in the animation list.
4. Select "Effect Options".
5. A menu pops up, modify the options of "Stop Playing", and then select
"After ## slides", and change it to when you want it to stop.
6. Right click on the sound on the slide, choose Edit Sound Object from the
context menu, click the "Loop untile stopped" check box and then click OK.
7. Test the presentation, the sound should play then stop until the last
slide.

If the issue persists, you may want to post the question in the
<microsoft.public.powerpoint> newsgroup since this is a powerpoint issue.
The <microsoft.public.powerpoint> newsgroup is primarily for PowerPoint
issues. We recommend posting appropriately so you will get the most
qualified pool of respondents, and so other customers who regularly read
the newsgroups can either share their knowledge or learn from your
interaction with us.

If anything is unclear, please feel free to let us know.

Hi Ralph,

What happened with the additional one? It still did not work? I've tested
those steps and the PPT worked as expected. If the problem still exists, I
suggest that you post the issue in the <microsoft.public.powerpoint>
newsgroup as it appears to be a powerpoint issue.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let me
know.

Mr. Wang: Thanks for your response. I did everything you suggested and it
did not work. I repeated your steps and added an additional one, right
click on sound selected to activate it. Thanks again.
