I have Windows 2000 running on an old P2 Gateway and when I boot the computer
windows will load, but as soon as it finishes the starting up windows screen
there's a brief blue screen then the computer reboots. I let the computer run
for an hour and windows still hasn't started. I tried using a repair disk and
after that runs it comes up with the message "Drive C: is corrupted and
windows cannot repair the disk." Is there any fix to this problem?

No advice, but I'm having the same issue. I've got Windows 2K Service Pack 4
running on a fairly current Pentium IV platform. It was working fine last
night (11/8/05) until I rebooted following a "Microsoft Update", and has
since been exhibiting the behavior you describe with your system. I've tried
jumping out of the normal boot sequence by pressing "F8" just as Windows 2000
starts to load, and this does get me to the screen to select "safe mode",
"safe mode w/networking", etc . I've tried every single available option on
that screen, including "debug", and the system still just attempts to load
Windows, then restarts itself. At the "debug" choice, the system got as far
as checking the hard drives, and filled up one page of information (I've got
multiple drives connected), then also bailed to a restart.
I strongly suspect an incompatibility with something in the update.

I had a SIMILAR problem this morning on my laptop running W2k - I installed
the recent updates and then re-booted my PC. It booted, got part way
through and then went to a dead black screen. I powered off, re-booted and
got the same problem, tried safe mode and that didn't work.

I did eventually get it working but purely by luck - my successful attempt
seemed to coincide with me powering down when the windows load progress bar
got to about 75%.

I am not recommending this as an approach, just sharing my experiences.
