When I use continuous forms on a subform there is always a new blank form
shown at the end of the list. Can anyone tell me how I can stop this
happening and how I could use a button to show the form for a new record
when I require one.

I need to use continuous forms view rather than datasheet as the amount of
data takes more than a screen width. The new blank record makes the whole
thing more difficult to read.

Set your form to "Allow Additions = No" to get rid of the
blank record. Add a command button to the form header
using the wizard to "Add new record"
