I'm about this - far from grabbing my pick and smash my laptop to pieces...

I tried to install a driver for a new network printer on my hp pavillion
(downloaded through www.hp.com). That went okay, at least it displays all the
printer options when I want to print. But... it doesn't print. To top that
off, I now receive the following message:

IEEE-1284.4-1999 Network Driver (Windws) has encountered a problem and needs
to close. We are sorry bla bla bla

No matter what I do, the stupid message keeps appearing on my computer, I
turned it of the official way, again manually, sent error reports, about 500
of them by now. If I click 'don't send' it disappears and comes back
immediately, the same when I click 'send error report'. So I am staring at
this stupit message every second. It drives me nuts. And I really am about
ready to take my truck and drive over my laptop until it is as flat as a
dime.

I am a computer dummy, guess that is important additional information....

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks a million

Go into the BIOS and make sure the correct port is selected for that
particular printer. Many times it is ECP, but it could be another.
