continues to reboot

Running windows xp home with service pack 2. When windows boots it will come
all the way to my desktop and show the complete desktop and after about 5
seconds or so, it will reboot. Was wondering if it was my power supply, but
I can boot to safe mode and it does not reboot. Ran chkdsk /r from CD and it
said it found and repaired one error. Problem persists. Any ideas would
certainly be appreciated. Thanks
 
Can you please post a copy of the Stop Error Report.

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click on
the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced,
Start-Up and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before
Automatically Restart.

Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure even after you have
solved the problem as it's better disabled. Check for variants of the
Stop Error message.

An alternative is to keep pressing the F8 key during Start-Up and select
option - Disable automatic restart on system failure.

If you are using a wireless keyboard and the F8 key does not work
substitute a wired keyboard and mouse for this exercise only.

Booted into safe mode in order to disable auto restart. Rebooted afterwards
and as usual booted up to desktop and after 15-20 seconds the machine
rebooted itself without showing any screen with stop error code. Is there
anywhere else I might be able to get this report?
 
What Error / Warning reports ( if any ) appear in the System log in
Event Viewer?

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you
should double click for further information. You can copy using copy
and paste. Often the link will, however, say there is no further
information.

click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer.Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

There are several error messages when going to the Event Viewer:
"DHCP Client service depends on the NetBios over Tcpip service which failed
to start because of the following error:
A device attached to the system failed to start"

"DNS Client Service depends on the TCPIP Protocol Driver Service which
failed to start because of the following error:
A device attached to the system failed to start"

Bear in mind that when I boot into safe mode and safe mode with networking
all works just fine. Any help would truly be appreciated. Thanks

Have you had problems setting up an internet connection? What router are
you using? Is there more than computer connected to the internet?

What are your anti-virus and anti-spyware arrangements?

What is your computer make and model?
