So I'm putting together this whole movie but I'm still missing a couple of
scenes, so I actually wanna take the project and put it onto my friends
computer (cause I'm in a boarding school and can't take the pc with me, but
my friend has one there) and insert the scenes. Is that at all possible? Or
do I have to export the movie I made so far and have it again scrambled to
pieces on my friends computer? This wouldn't allow me to change audio
settings and bla afterwards. Any suggestions?

You can do it with just the project file (MSWMM)... bring it with you, add
the scenes at your friends place, get a copy of the source files you use
there and bring it back with you.... then put it together at home.

Don't worry about the red-Xs you'll see when you don't have the source files
with you.

Well, the problem is, I gotta have this movie finished by thursday, so I
won't get back home. If I have the source files and the project file, the
files still need to be in the same directory, which they won't be. Can I
somehow change the directories? And let's say I manage to get those
straightened up and I import the source files again, the application won't
use the new clips (generated from the old source files) and plug it into the
proper places, will it?

You can mix and match folders that the source files for project are in....
and you don't need the source files to edit a project.... if you sent me a
project file, I could open and preview it... but with red-X's and no source
files I wouldn't see much. But I could edit the project here and send it
back to you... things should continue to work fine.

Hello Mark,
First requirement; Is your friend has MM2? You could Copy the program in a CD or Download it from Microsoft.

Yes, you could change the directory but MM2 will find it for you by Right Click to select any one missing file and choose Browse
for missing files. Just repeat if more to be find. You don't need to Import again because MM2 already find it for you and will
plug back to proper locations.

You just Import the new missing scenes from your friend house.

Hope this help,
