Hi
windows downloader keeps downloading a file that is infected, my virus prog
deletes it and then xp says it can't find it.

A little later it tries again (up to ten times a day).

How do I remove this file from the downloaders list so this can be stopped

Windows downloader? It it's coming from Windows Update, it's possible your
antivirus software is misidentifying the file in which case you need to
check with the AV tech support. You might want to try scanning the file
with another AV to see if it comes up with the same results, especially if
this is coming in from Windows Update. You can do this online at the
following site:

The file is called Installer2 and is definitely not coming from Windows
update.
It started appearing at a time when I had Getright turned off so it has to
be something that was downloaded by xp.
The virus is TROJ_DELF.AR

The only auto update in XP is from Windows Update and those are only
critical updates. Either it is coming in by way of something else you
installed or you have malware on your system that might be bringing it in.

To check for malware on your system, download, install and run Ad Aware:
www.lavasoftusa.com.

Thanks Michael

I have found 92 spyware and malware on my computer. Lets hope that it was
one of them.

Thanks again
