In the 97-2003 version, you could make a doc Read Only via the General
Options while saving. The file could then only be opened as Read Only without
supplying the password, and both the Save and Save As options were greyed out.

In the PPT 2007 version, the same general option for security is there -
password for Read Only - but it does not protect the content. People can open
as Read Only but save the presentation under another name. Has anyone else
experienced this? I don't know why this feature was changed, since you can
use the "Mark as Final" option to protect content against accidental changes.

How can I still allow people to view my copyrighted ppt, but not be able to
save the file under a new name so they can copy/paste the content?

When I go into General Options in 2007 and add a password to Modify, and then
re-open it, Save As is grayed out. You don't get that result?
