Content.IE5 help

I deleted all the files in the Content.IE5 folder that
houses the index.dat file. There has been some
irregularities to some parts on webpages, such as
the "Page cannot be displayed error" where an
advertisement picture is supposed to be. Another example
would be when I logoff of my yahoo mail, it's supposed to
go automatically to the main yahoo.com webpage, now it
doesn't. Were there files in the Content.IE5 folder that
I needed? If so, how do I get it back?
